I recently took a trip from Seattle down to Utah to provide some hitting instruction with some hitters in the Salt Lake City area. I had the opportunity to connect with Dan Gazaway of the Pitching Academy and watch him work with his pitchers on pitching mechanics and baseball pitching grips.
I was impressed at the way Dan connected with his players and relayed pitching information. While there are countless former athletes who provide various levels of baseball instruction, very few have the ability to communicate training information effectively with each player. Dan Gazaway has that ability.
Good pitching mechanics take time to develop and Dan works in an organized manner with the clear focus of player understanding in mind. He wont rush players ahead but hell shift and change mechanics until an athlete understands the correct approach. I even tagged along on a few pitching lessons and Dan taught me a splitter! Only if I had learned that back when I pitched in college. |
