Pitching Mechanics: Consistency Truly Pays
Many of you know I have been a pitching instructor for the past 10 years. Teaching pitching mechanics has been an amazing experience and one I will continue to enjoy the rest of my life. I have met incredible people (parents, coaches, players etc.) that have inspired me to become a better individual. I love my job!
On one of my latest articles, Pitching at a Higher Level: Hard Work Required, I highlighted some of the greatest strengths our best pitchers have. Flat out hard work is required. A real determination to succeed!
Most of the pitchers we work with really have the desire to improve and it shows in their consistency taking lessons, knowing there is something better for them to do. That is why they are consistently coming in for more and more lessons week after week. They expect to win and again, it shows in their effort. However, it never surprises me that about 30% of the pitchers that visit The Pitching Academy; show up irregularly even though they truly say they want to be the best pitcher out there. Those parents, coaches and players often feel that a lesson or a tune-up every month or two is sufficient for what they want to accomplish. Well, that could be true if they want mediocre results. If you are serious about your performance you will be more consistent with your efforts day in and day out.
